Preparing for the nurse’s assessment

Problem: Here are some tips to prepare for the nurse’s assessment

Tip:

The nurse can only pass you at the onsite visit having seen you complete at least 4 travel consultations. If you are struggling to find four people, consider contacting your local doctor’s surgery to see whether they would be willing to send some patients your way. Details on how best to approach the doctor’s surgery can be found under the travel clinic marketing section of our website. Having completed the online training, continue to practise the vaccination techniques on inanimate objects such as pieces of fruit. Contact us to get our nurse’s telephone number so that you can arrange a suitable date for the assessment.

If you know the patients’ details (holiday destination, duration, planned activities etc) before they come in for a consultation, double check the PGD for details of vaccinations required. Make sure you have the vaccinations in stock and be sure to have Risk Assessment Forms printed and ready for the consultations. Double check the requirements for the consultation room and ensure that all specification points are met to avoid failing the site inspection.
